Warranty this thing and either hope for a better Flux 2 or if they'd allow me to upgrade it to the Neo 2T which seems to solve everyone's issues.Ī static check involves hanging a known weight off the crank when it's horizontal, and reading the torque value off the head unit.Just buy some pedals like Assimo Favero and use them as a power source with the Flux 2 as the resistance?.Any advice on how to continue with this since this is really annoying me in Zwift as it's extremely hard to keep up with the same people now indoors compared to outdoors. ![]() The trainer is 13 months old at this point so there should still be warranty on it. Even tried different temperatures and calibrating before, after 15min, 60min, 120min and everything seems to be the exact same. Also feel like I've tested everything the calibration options offer (tacx utility/app/desktop, zwift app) and at least that seems to be spot on for this exact same "resistance" every time. My HRM for this test was pretty much inline with what I've seen on the Domane on the trainer as well so I actually think that the SRAM + Shimano barely did anything to the efficiency. ![]() I'm pretty darn certain that is far far more than the difference in location of where the power is measured + the extra loss from using the Shimano cassette. So the trainer is under reporting by 18%. The result from both power meters comparing them in ZwiftPower: Amazingly enough it works pretty well on the 11 speed shimano cassette as long as you don't expect fast (or good) shifting and don't mind some grinding noises when the chain isn't perfectly aligned. My HRM is reporting over 10 higher for the same watts.įinally after a few weeks I got pissed enough to put my Madone on the Flux 2 today even though I don't have the 12 speed freehub required for the cassette. Winter is coming and I brought out the Flux 2 and Domane again and to my surprise I can't even do close to what I did the week before out doors. It's showing me a bit lower than the others in the group ride and I'm the smallest of the bunch so I'm pretty sure it's correct and it's not over reporting at least. Ridden it for 7500km and the power value is what I'd expect compared to others around me. I seemed to do somewhat similar speeds to outdoors so I wasn't too annoyed with it.įast forward to this year I got myself a Trek Madone SLR 7 eTap with a quarq (dzero something?) power meter. VeloMemes (amateur racing, amateur memes)īought a Flux 2 last year for use with my Trek Domane and it was my first power meter so I had no idea how correct it was for Zwift.Or check out the 2018 version, Where Can I Find a Ride?
